Built in 1973, in a Brutalist/Mid-Century Modern style of architecture by a popular firm, Lyles, Bissett, Carlisle and Woff, who also designed what is now known as The Dewberry Hotel in Downtown Charleston. This 10 story, 500 bed hospital also hosted a barber shop, theater, chapel and dental clinic. Recipient of the 1974 American Institute of Architecture Award.
